For the last few weeks I've been connecting to the internet via the 'optimumwifi' hotspot that is within range of my home, but tonight my laptop will not even detect the 'optimumwifi' in the available Wi-Fi signals. My laptop will detect every on of my neighbor's wifi signals. My Samsung Galaxy S5 device is connecting to the internet through 'optimumwifi' so I believe the signal is there.
I notice that 2 of these hotspots are indoor and one is outdoor.
I can't confirm which hotspot I was connecting to.
The wireless network adapter in my laptop is a Qualcomm Atheros AR9285 and I have manually turned it off. I have rebooted my laptop as well as deleting 'forget' all internet connections I've ever logged into, and I have turned the Atheros card back on.
My computer still won't detect this optimumwifi hotspot.
On Optimum's website, they are still showing that these hotspots (assuming they are real time) are still active.
Perhaps one of these hotspots are temporarily down, and because my computer is a 2009 model this older Atheros wireless network adapter isn't as strong as wireless network adapter built into this phone.
If anyone has any suggestions I'm all ears.
